Oliver Davies

Finance Officer

Bio

Oliver is a Finance Officer with the Institute for Methods Innovation. Previously, he worked for Parque Das Aves, a specialist bird zoo and conservation center in Brazil, where he ran the finance department, helped oversee business expansion and development, and shepherded the organization through the coronavirus pandemic. He enjoys working with financial reports and reviewing financial statements, and when all the numbers balance correctly. He was one of the founders of the Claravis Institute, an NGO that works with IUCN and CPSG for avian species conservation in the Atlantic Rainforest and more broadly across Brazil.

 

He is an Associate of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and has a background in Environmental Education and Interpretation, receiving a masters from the University of Wisconsin in 2014. Earlier in his career, he taught English as a Foreign Language in Japan and the UK.

 

Currently he lives on the Isle of Man and has a passion for reading, writing and spending time outdoors.
